The Safety Institute of Australia (Queensland Branch) invites you to join us and be part of the 24th Annual Occupational Health and Safety Visions Conference to be held at Twin Waters Resort, Maroochydore, from 14-15 July 2016.

Visions 2016 aims to feature high level,  contemporary keynote speakers who are experts in their field of study and research, along with WHS Regulators and industry experts discussing current industry topics.

The conference provides the perfect opportunity to network with your peer group while experiencing contemporary and best-practice OHS solutions showcased by fellow safety professionals. Founder of Human Dymensions, Dr Rob Long is a prolific author, with three decades of experience, qualifications and expertise across several sectors, including government, education, corporate, industry and community. Dr Long has worked at all levels of the education and training sector, including post graduate supervision, post graduate course design, implementation of programs, and serving on various post graduate executive.

Aaron Anderson is a Brisbane-based specialist in occupational health and safety law and injury claims management. He has extensive experience in advising clients on OHS and industrial relations related matters in various industries, including rail, mining, construction, food safety, manufacturing, electricity and transport. An experienced advocate, Aaron has successfully defended numerous prosecutions for clients, advising on a broad range of safety and injury management matters, such as compliance and incident response management.

KEYNOTE: Safely Realising Creative Ideas

Renowned international stuntman, Keir Beck has an impressive filmography that includes Matrix Reloaded, Casino Royale and Pirates of the Caribbean. Beck’s experience with complex stunt action sequences led to him lecturing in creative stunt rig design and implementation in Australia, Europe and the USA. His safety management systems have been welcomed by Warner Brothers films and other major global production companies.

KEYNOTE: Safety Leadership at Work (SLAW) Program

Greg has more than 35 years of experience in the transport industry, the last seventeen with Toll, and the most recent five as General Manager, Toll NQX. Greg started in the industry as a local driver and loader. His experience from shop floor to senior management has given him a solid understanding of all aspects of the industry and the associated risks. Greg has a personal passion for safety, driven by firsthand experience as a young man in what is a traditionally high risk industry. Under Greg’s leadership, Toll NQX became an industry leader in both onsite and on road safety.

Dr Yvonne Toft
– Associate Professor Human Factors & Systems Safety, CQU
KEYNOTE: Jargon: The Nemesis of Good Professional Practice

Dr Yvonne Toft is the Head of Programs, Transport & Safety Sciences in the Higher Education Division at Central Queensland University. She leads a dynamic trans-disciplinary program group teaching and researching human factors engineering, OHS, accident forensics & investigation, risk engineering and fatigue risk management in public safety.
