Your Speaker

Kath Jones, Senior Inspector/ Scientific Officer (Human Factors and Ergonomics) Health Hazards and Plant Safety, WorkSafe WA Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety.

Kath has worked as an ergonomist specialising in the prevention of psychosocial and musculoskeletal injuries at work for over a decade. Combining qualifications in Occupational Therapy and Organisational Psychology, Kath investigates how well workplaces manage the risk of injuries resulting from hazardous manual tasks, bullying, and other complex hazards in the workplace.

Kath has held several positions on the WA committee for the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society of Australia and is the current WA Board representative on the national HFESA board.   In her role as senior scientific officer at WorkSafe, she regularly presents forums on best practice in the prevention of musculoskeletal injuries and systems to prevent and manage occupational stress and bullying.
