On behalf of the safety institute of Australia, we invite you to join us for the third installment in a series of Personal Injury Management webinars which are being held throughout 2017, in partnership with The  Personal Injury Education Foundation.

This webinar will provide an overview on Best Practice Injury Management

Key Learning Outcomes

The presentation focuses on individuals who have sustained complex, serious or long-term compensable injuries and is directed at developing the participants’ expertise in:

  • assessing risk and predicting complexity, poor recovery and ongoing work disability
  • holistic and person-centred planning
  • minimising the ‘fallout’ through a strengths-based approach
  • developing strategies to effectively support an individual as they recover and resume their key life and work roles
  • promoting sustained positive outcomes.

Your Presenter

Sarah has twenty years’ experience as an occupational therapist, an extensive clinical background in acute care, neurological and psychiatric settings, and holds post-graduate qualifications in Psychology. Sarah’s wide-ranging workplace rehabilitation experience, which includes rehabilitation consultant and advisory positions in CTP and workers compensation, policy roles within WorkCover NSW, and leadership role within a NSW scheme agent specialising in severe injury and psychological injury claims management, equips her well for her current industry consultancy work. Sarah draws from this breadth of experience to provide effective, evidence-based strategic input to facilitate positive recovery, RTW and claims outcomes.

More recently, Sarah’s industry experience has led to her current teaching roles within Sydney University’s Faculty of Health Sciences and Griffith University’s Business School. Sarah is an insightful and strong communicator, dedicated to promoting best-practice injury management and to enabling individuals who have sustained physical or psychological injuries to regain optimal independence and resume their priority life and work roles.
