SIA Webinar: Managing Complex Return to Work Cases

On behalf of the safety institute of Australia, we invite you to join us for the final installment in a series of Personal Injury Management webinars which are being held throughout 2017, in partnership with The  Personal Injury Education Foundation.

Personal injury compensation claims statistics show that the majority of injured people (approximately 80%) recover from their injuries and return to work in a predictable manner and with minimal intervention. Cotton (2006) cites that approximately 20% of injured workers show levels of distress and disability beyond that expected for the initial injury and that a further 5% go on to exhibit ‘apparently disproportionate outcomes’ where levels of long term disability and distress cannot be explained by the initial injury.

In this webinar, Jeanette Kinahan will overview return to work complexity, including;

  • Factors that may make a return to work case difficult or complex to manage
  • How to identify and respond to complexity
  • Conflict and dispute in return to work and strategies for resolution
