On behalf of the safety institute of Australia, we invite you to join us for the third installment in a series of Personal Injury Management webinars which are being held throughout 2017, in partnership with The  Personal Injury Education Foundation.

This webinar will provide an overview on Understanding the Personal Industry and Disability Management Industry

Key Learning Outcomes

The session will provide a high level overview of workers’ compensation schemes and compulsory third party (CTP) motor vehicle injury insurance arrangements across Australia and New Zealand.

Key scheme aspects to be outlined include funding, coverage, premium, benefits, claims and injury management, rehabilitation/return to work and life, self-insurance, common law and dispute resolution.

Participants in the session will gain a greater knowledge and understanding of the nature of different regulatory and operational structures as well as insight into the background to these jurisdictions and contemporary issues for schemes.

Your Presenter:

SHARON STRATFORD

Sharon Stratford has over 25 years of experience in workers’ compensation insurance and injury management. During this time, she held senior management roles for over 15 years including seven years in General Manager positions in business, claims and customer areas at WorkCover Queensland, the state’s highly regarded workers’ compensation insurer.

Sharon has tertiary qualifications in physiotherapy, business systems, policy and management. Having had careers in all of these disciplines during her working life, she now has a portfolio career managing several small family businesses. Sharon is also committed to giving back to the personal injury industry she is passionate about by consulting and conducting training/education which has included facilitating PIEF workshops and diploma modules as well as being the industry expert lecturer for Griffith Uni/PIEF’s post graduate Claims Strategy subject.
